the story you've heard before
Every consultancy site reads as 'respected art-world default'. Yours could read as a thinking practice.
I read first. I draft slowly. I ship work with weight.
how i think about it
I read first. I draft slowly. I ship work with weight.
The brief, read twice
I read the brief twice and the art context once. What you're trying to surface matters more than how fast it ships.
Fourteen years in the practice
Saatchi Sydney 2014 to 2018. Global agency lead 2018 to 2022. Solo since. Narrowed to art-led work in 2025 because the cultural brief gives me room to read.
Erskineville, thinking rooms
Studio in a warehouse with painted concrete and vintage drafting tables. Travel for cultural work when the brief earns the trip. Quiet rooms, slow drafts.
about
I make work that earns its space on the wall.
Fourteen years in practice. Saatchi Sydney 2014 to 2018, design lead at a global agency 2018 to 2022, then solo. Narrowed to art-led work in 2025 because the cultural-institution brief gives me what other briefs don't. Room to read. Room to fail twice before landing. Room for restraint as a design choice.
The work is slow because the brief deserves it.
Erskineville studio. Cross-Sydney and Melbourne, occasional Tokyo and Kyoto travel for cultural research. I take six briefs a year. Both cultural-institution and art-led commercial.
how an engagement actually goes
From brief read to production.
Free 60 minutes. What you're trying to surface, who it's for, what art-world contexts inform it.
Reading, looking, drawing, hating my first idea, finding the second. The month earns its keep.
Two directions. We pick one. The other gets binned, no rescue, no compromise blend.
8 to 16 weeks depending on scope. You sign off, we ship. The work goes onto walls and into hands.

Talk to Inka. They read briefs slowly.
Inka is not a chatbot reading from a script. Tell them what you're trying to surface. Ask them which engagement fits. Ask them whether a slot exists this quarter.
Most briefs receive a reading slot within the week. Cultural institutions and art-led brands only. Quynh takes briefings Friday 2pm or Tuesday 11am.
real questions
The questions briefs actually open with.
Why only six briefs a year?
Do you work with commercial brands?
What does "art-led" actually mean in practice?
Can I see prices upfront?
What if I don't like the concept?
Are you booking now?
A question Inka didn't answer? Ask them.
